Las Vegas, Nevada (October 8, 2009) – The 4th Annual Pure Aloha Festival has relocated to the Silverton Casino Lodge and will feature ono (delicious) island food, arts and craft vendors and entertainment straight from the islands of the Pacific Islands beginning Friday, October 9 through Sunday, October 11. The celebration will feature evening concerts on Friday and Saturday, as well as, festival grounds that will showcase the best of Hawaiian culture all three days.
In light of the recent natural disasters, Samoa O Nevada will be on-site collecting medical supplies, blankets, food, water, gently used clothes, wheel chairs, crutches and other materials in an effort to help aide those suffering from the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the islands of Samoa. In addition, Lei Samoa will dedicate its performance and pay a special tribute on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m.
Friday evening will feature a concert with some of today’s greatest island stars, with performances by J.Boog, Ooklah the Moc, and Bonafide with special guests Pati, begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Saturday evening’s concert, featuring the legendary Cecilio & Kapono (C&K), begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. The festival hours are Friday, October 9 from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 10 from 11 a.m.- 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 11 from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. The festival will feature a variety of island vendors and local halau performances. The admission fee is $6 for General Admission and $3 for children 3–10, seniors (65+), and Military with I.D. Festival tickets are only available for purchase at the door.
