Mamma Mia! Buca di Beppo yields 95% increase in Facebook Likes with online promotion to Celebrate Social Media Day

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 30, 2011) – In less than seven hours, Buca di Beppo suc­cess­fully increased its Face­book Likes from 66,000 to 100,000 in a tremen­dous response to its Social Media Day pro­mo­tion that com­bined tra­di­tional e-mail mar­ket­ing with the world’s lead­ing social media platform.

Buca di Beppo launched its Social Media Day cam­paign via Face­book, Twit­ter and through its email data­base of over one mil­lion sub­scribers. The goal was to reach 100,000 likes on its Face­book page by June 30, with the prize being a $10 reward cer­tifi­cate to all of its eClub mem­bers. Launched on June 22 at 11:30 a.m. (PST), the response was imme­di­ate with the page adding 14,000 likes in the first hour and hit­ting the 100,000 mile­stone later that day at 6:30 p.m. (PST).

With a lim­ited num­ber of loca­tions, gen­er­ous family-style por­tions and house made sauces and recipes, Buca di Beppo is a national brand that feels like a neigh­bor­hood restau­rant,” said Kyle Collins, Direc­tor of Inter­ac­tive Mar­ket­ing at Planet Hol­ly­wood Inter­na­tional Inc., the par­ent com­pany of Buca di Beppo. “With this online ini­tia­tive we were able to engage that strong affin­ity that peo­ple feel for our restau­rants by encour­ag­ing them to con­nect and con­verse with us via social media.  The result was imme­di­ate and powerful.”

In May, Buca di Beppo took to Twit­ter and gave away 14 grad­u­a­tion par­ties in 14 days as part of its re-tweet cam­paign reward­ing high school and col­lege grad­u­ates. As of June 29, 2011 Buca di Beppo’s Face­book page has over 129,000 likes, a 95% increase com­pared to one week ago.
